Yes, Handles internally are always able to open the door.

Why does the door automatically lock after I release the handle?
If the lock behaves like this, it is either in Office Mode or Standard Mode. It is designed to behave like this most of the time, after hours for lesson times or Office hours, to keep the building secure. Office mode can be left unlocked if you have access to do so, and hold the fob on the door reader for a few seconds until it flashes green 4-5 times. To relock, hold for another 4-5 seconds, and it will flash red, and it is locked again. See video above

To access a door, it's just like a Hotel room. Just tap the fob on the White circle on the door handle, then the door will flash green to open/unlock the door, depending on the Mode the door is set to.

Yes and No. The fob does need to be used on a Online lock or a Update station at least ever 60 days. In most cases you unlocking a door will perform this function
