Yes, Teams calling is on for all staff now, and you can call external numbers. When you make calls, the number being displayed to external people will be displayed as the College's main number.
In the past, some staff had a dedicated external number for calls to be made to. These numbers will remain and will be ported to the new Teams system. All staff who did not have a direct number will be issued a new number. Your direct number will appear under the dial pad.
All calls will now be made through your Teams Client on the computer or via the Mobile app available on Apple or Android devices. You can also make a call via Teams in the Web browser. You will need to have Teams running on your computer.
Yes, this can be switchover at any time by raising a Helpdesk request Helpdesk.pared.edu.au. You can give out your direct number to anyone and they can call you directly. If it is outside of your scheduled work hours (default is set to 8am - 4:30pm) it will go to your voicemail.
When you don’t want to receive calls, set your status to “Do not disturb”, which will send all callers to voicemail to leave a message.
To set the status click on your name in the top right-hand of the Teams screen.
Then click on the text below your email to see the status types and choose “Do not disturb.”

All unanswered calls will leave a “Missed call” in the Team call History with the number. A red dot will also be displayed for missed calls on the Calls icon on the left of the Teams screen.
Any Voice messages will also be displayed on this screen in the call History.
Call History can be searched by type of call or name or number using the filters at the top of the list

Teams Calling has been set to only take calls by default between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM. All calls outside of this time will go directly to voicemail.

In the top right of the Teams screen, click on the three dots
Choose Settings then Calls then Configure Voicemail
On this screen, you can record a voicemail or use Text-to-speech to create a message
When dialling an external number you must use the full number with the area code i.e. 02 9651 1177, not 9651 1177
No need to dial 0 to get an external line any more.
